Principle of electronic harness fault detection

For different electronic accessories, the number of wires contained in the harness and the number of colors are different, the number of wires can be from several, dozens to hundreds, the color can be from several, more than a dozen to dozens of (including monochrome and two-color), the terminal wire harness fault detector (hereinafter referred to as the detector) once an open circuit or short circuit fault is detected, It should be able to display the fault type, color and position of the fault wire immediately, so that the operator can find and eliminate the fault immediately. In order to achieve the above functions, the following detection method is adopted: First, all the end points of the wire harness are numbered, and the end point number is grouped by color, and then the color and end point number are input into the detector by group (one type of wire harness only needs to be entered once). The specific detection process of the detector is divided into short circuit fault detection and open fault detection two steps: A certain type of wire harness has A(red),B(blue), C(green) three groups of endpoints, the endpoints in the group are connected, and any end point in the group is not connected to all the endpoints outside the group.

Short-circuit fault detection: First detect whether any endpoint in group A is connected to each endpoint in group B and group C. If no, it indicates that there is no short-circuit fault between the endpoint and each endpoint in group B and group C; If it is connected to an endpoint, the detector immediately displays the fault type, the color of the faulty wire, and the endpoint number. The short circuit fault detection can be realized by detecting whether the other endpoints in group A and the endpoints in group B and group C are on. Open fault detection: Using a single cycle to detect whether each endpoint in the group is disconnected, you can achieve open fault detection.
